戴福初，男，1967年10月生于湖南新化，北京工業大學教授

1993年9月–1997年7月在中國科學院地質研究所攻讀水文地質工程地質專業博士學位

1990年9月–1993年7月在西安地質學院攻讀水文地質工程地質專業碩士學位

1986年9月–1990年7月在西安地質學院水文地質工程地質系獲水文地質工程地質專業學士學位

1995年11月–1996年11月在香港大學土木工程系任研究助理

1997年8月–1999年5月在中國科學院地理研究所從事博士后研究

1999年5月在中國科學院地理研究所工作

1999年10月在中國科學院地理研究所被評為副研究員

1999年6月–2001年6月在香港大學土木工程系從事滑坡災害的研究，任ResearchAssociate

2002年2月–2002年9月在香港大學土木工程系任高級研究助理

2002年10月–2005年10月在香港大學土木工程系任研究助理教授。于2004年2月辭職

2004年2月入選中國科學院百人計劃，被聘為中國科學院地質與地球物理研究所研究員、博士生導師

2013年入選北京市高水平引進人才特聘教授被聘為北京工業大學教授博士生導師
